Found this fix after the New World update 2. It’s an screeching audio bug, and it happened what seemed to me after getting into my ship. But after some research it seems it has something to do with the mission notifications.
I went in to the pause menu and go to log and change your current mission and it should go away temporarily until they make a fix.
